About-DMBB

The BSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology programme was introduced in the 2002/2003 academic year, following the restructuring of the former Department of Botany and Zoology into the School of Biological Sciences. Since then, the department has trained and graduated high-quality scientists who are excelling in academia, agriculture, health, and environmental management — both in Ghana and around the globe. The department has further expanded and developed MSc, MPhil and PhD programmes in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

Vision

To be a leading centre of excellence in molecular biology and biotechnology education, research, and innovation in Ghana and beyond, driving sustainable solutions for health, agriculture, industry, and environmental challenges.
